How are you spending the time you’ve been given? When you make Scripture memory a priority, you’re more likely to set aside time to memorize. Make Scripture memory part of your routine with our 4x6 verse cards.
We all have pockets of time that, if used intentionally, can lead to great strides in memorizing Scripture. Rather than flipping on the radio, or streaming music or a podcast when running errands or commuting to work, why not put that time to use reviewing your memory verses?
One singer/songwriter says he reviews verses in the shower, hanging them in Ziplock bags. A friend keeps his verse cards attached to the visor of his car with a rubber band so he can review them while waiting in the car or grab them if he’s going to stand in line.
Practice may not make anything perfect this side of heaven, but it does make us more proficient. Like physical exercise, Scripture memory gets easier the more you do it. Even if it’s slow at first, the benefit of having God’s Word stored in your heart is worth every effort (Psalm 119:11).
The more often we read, repeat, and review verses, the more quickly and firmly we’ll have passages memorized. When Christians make the effort to memorize, asking God to help them as they go, it’s remarkable what can happen.
