More Information

The Foundation Verses are 76 strategically chosen Bible passages designed for toddlers and pre-readers (ages 2-5). Each passage includes a full-color illustration to help children remember the passage. The vision behind the Foundation Verses is to lay a firm foundation of basic biblical truth to pave the way for faith response and establish the habit of hiding God’s Word in the heart.

The life of faith is a fight of faith, and believers must be armed for it. The Word of God is our indispensable sword, because this fight is not against flesh and blood but “but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Through memorizing and meditating on the Word, you can have this powerful sword readily available to use at any time, providing you with ever-present counsel, encouragement, and protection from the enemy of our souls.

To help children hide God’s Word in their hearts, we have created Foundation Verses Packs, Foundation Verses Coloring Books, and Foundation Verses Visuals Packets for use in the classroom and at home. Memory incentives and rewards, including the Fighter Verses Tote Bag and the Memory Verses Stars, provide valuable encouragement for young children as they memorize God's Word. Whether working with children at home or in a church memory program, these age-appropriate resources can help motivate children to work toward their memory goals and persevere in Scripture memorization and review.

Read the article Godward Recognition for more suggestions on using memorization incentives. We also have a Bible Memory Chart and other Free Tools that you could use to encourage young children in Scripture memory.
