Companion Resource: A Church Leader's Guide to Child Dedication and Youth Baptism
This guide is a companion to the booklets Dedicated to the Lord and Established in the Faith, to make the most of these milestones. Our goal is to promote partnership between the church and home, maximizing the impact for all who are involved in the process and encouraging the pursuit of biblical faithfulness.

Children truly are a gift of God (Psalm 127:3), but they were created and are given to us for God’s glory (Isaiah 43:7; Romans 11:36). In other words, when we receive a child from God, it is right that we recognize that child as dedicated to God for His glory.

This little booklet (64 pages) provides a working definition of what it means for a child to be dedicated to God. It then presents and unpacks the significance, meaning, and implication of five promises that represent the biblical calling and responsibility that rests on all Christian parents who have been entrusted with children to raise for the glory of their Creator. Parents can make these promises publicly or privately as an expression of their gratitude to God for His gift and their resolve to be faithful parents.

Whether we stand before our brothers and sisters in Christ and make these promises or not, we will all one day stand before our King of kings and Lord of lords. On that great day, may God find us to be faithful servants and stewards of the precious gifts that He has entrusted to us!

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 4
